He is survived by: his wife Janet E. Shimmel (Mease); his children, James Paul Shimmel (Lori) of Philipsburg, Jill Shimmel of Philipsburg and Julie Smay (Joe) of Erie; his stepchildren, Tawnya Smeal (Billy) of Morrisdale, Jimmy Bannon (Kandy) of Philipsburg and Dennis; his sister Helen Jane Granville (Bill) of Philipsburg; his sister-in-law Beatrice Shimmel of Morrisdale; his stepsisters, June Hughes of Westover, Roseanne Dixon of Philipsburg, Susan Braniff (Gary) of Ohio and Virginia Jackson (Richard) of Philipsburg; his granddaughter Brittany Shimmel (Delsin Wisor); and his stepgrandchildren, Kiersten Smeal, Lexy Smeal, Marissa Bannon, Devin Bannon and Dennis Bannon III. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
