He was predeceased by: his wife Mary; and his siblings, William and Claire Boyle. He is survived by: his children, Helen R. Major (late Thomas), Andrew S. "Drew", Marianne Dougherty (James), Christopher (Susan) and Mark (Jackie); his grandchildren, Nicole, Jillian, Christian, Stephanie, Andrew, Jamie, Allison, David and Abigail; and his great grandchildren, Skyla and Cameron.
