She was predeceased by: her parents, John Schmidt and Catherine Taylor Schmidt; her brothers, Ralph Schmidt, Robert "Bobby" Schmidt and William "Billy" Schmidt; and her siblings-in-law, Margaret Schmidt and Rodger "Bill" Hatfield.
She is survived by: her sons, Marcus W. Gilbert III (Carrie) of Coatesville, Edgar "Chubby" Gilbert (Mary Campbell) of Coatesville, Brian Gilbert of Coatesville and Stacy Gilbert of Coatesville; her grandchildren, Jonathen (Felicia Middleton), Cory, Jessica Gilbert (Kevin Dowlin) of Coatesville, Rebecca and Joshua Gilbert; her great grandchild Wesley Dowlin of Coatesville; her siblings, John "Buddy" Schmidt of Christiana, Patricia Hatfield of Florida and Richard Schmidt (Nancy) of Narvon; and her sisters-in-law, Joyce Schmidt of Coatesville, Jackie Schmidt of Quarryville and Alberta Schmidt of Coatesville.
