He was predeceased by: his parent Domenic Petrarca; and his siblings, Paul Petrarca, Nicholas Petrarca, Samuel Petrarca, Tony Petrarca, Josephine Palonzo, Mary Caputo, Agnes Paesano and Antionette Petrarca.
He is survived by: his parent Carmella Petrarca (Carchio); his wife Lois Petrarca (Smith); his children, Domenic Petrarca (Mary Pat) of Gibsonia, David Petrarca (Diane) of Swissvale, Lisa Buettner (John), Leanna Perla (Mark) of Wilklins Twp and Lori Factor of Trafford; his grandchildren, Brittany Edmiston (Brett), Domenic John Petrarca, Maria Petrarca, Angela Petrarca, John Ballog, Lois Ballog, Paige Perla, Grace Perla, Samantha Factor, Sidney Factor and Luke Buettner; and his sister Cecilia Marchitello of Swissvale. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
