He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Daniel Kantenwein and Dorothy Kantenwein (Rome); and his brother Russell J. Kantenwein. He is survived by: his wife Sophia; his daughters, Dr. Kimberly DeBoer (Craig) of East Stroudsburg and Laura Sweeney (Matthew) of Budd Lake, NJ.; his grandchildren, Kaitlin DeBoer, Adam and Shea Sweeney; his sisters, Sara Sherman of Sussex, NJ and Amy Garrett of Sparrowbush, NY; and his sisters-in-law, Floretta Smith of Molino, FL, Linda VanOrden of Newton, NJ and Ruby Halls of Secaucus, NJ. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was also a member of RSVP in Stroudsburg, and a member of Samaritan Lodge #98 in Hardyston, NJ, transferring to Barger Lodge #325 in Stroudsburg, in August 2000.
