He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Thoburn and Mary Catherine Fields (Crum); and his wife Norma Jean (Linn). He is survived by: his children, Mary Anne Sprout, MD, Kathy Clark (Howard) and Kelly McMullen (David); his grandchildren, Nichole Camacho (Rafael), Erica, James Sprout, MD, Marissa Boozel and Allyson McMullen; and his great grandchildren, Braelyn, Brantlyn, Rylee, Brooklyn, Korbyn and Paislee.
