Anna Marie Maikner Obituary
Anna Marie Maikner, (nee Clark), a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family on January 21, 2023. She was 74 years old. Anna Marie is preceded in death by her son Emil and her parents Catherine and Frank Clark and her brother John. She is survived by her beloved husband Emil, her loving daughter Jennifer Sablich (William), dear sister of Kathleen Clark Kelley (Kevin). She was grandmother to Conor, Catherine and Kyle Sablich and aunt to Kevin Kelley (Jenn), Caitlin Kelley, Bridget Kelley (Nate), Colin Kelley (Carly), and Matthew Clark (Sofia).
She grew up in the Olney section of Philadelphia and attended Cardinal Dougherty High School Class of 1966 where she was a member of the orchestra. She met and married the love of her life Emil and they were married for 54 years. She worked for Temple University Medical Practices for 42 years.
Her nickname was Nanny and she was the heart and soul of her family. She adored her grandchildren and never missed a game or event. She spent many summers in Ocean City NJ with her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time at the beach. After retirement, she spent most of her time in Ocean City. She volunteered for the American Legion, Ocean City Post and was President of the Ladies Auxiliary. She worked diligently to fundraise for Veterans organizations. She had many friends and was a well loved member of the Ocean City community.
Relatives and friends are invited to share in Anna Marie's Life Celebration, Friday January 27, 2023 starting 9:00AM followed by her memorial mass at 10:30 AM at St. Hilary of Poitiers Church, 820 Susquehanna Rd., Rydal, PA 19046. Interment private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Anna Marie's memory to The American Legion, Post 524, PO Box 363, Ocean City NJ would be appreciated by her family.
