It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Merle Weyand of Somerset, Pennsylvania, born in Jefferson, Pennsylvania, who passed away on August 27, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Fran Weyand and Stella M. Weyand (Shaulis); and his siblings, Clark, Elmer Weyand, Rose Weyand, Fern Simpson and Ruth Livengood.
He is survived by: his wife Marie Evelyn Lape; his daughters, Connie Crowley (James) of Somerset, Cathy Popovich (Samuel) of Berlin and Carol Chrise (Allen) of Somerset; his grandchildren, Michelle Karasek (Chris), Samuel Popovich Jr., Sara Baker (Jonathan) and Elizabeth Smouse (Kirk); and his great grandchildren, Kayla, Melanie and Ava.
