He is survived by: his wife Nancy Helfrich (Colgrove); his children, Erika Leigh Helfrich Truffer (Christopher) of Mt. Airy, MD. and Adam James Helfrich of Boulder; his siblings, Linda Joan Helfrich, Cheryl Wasley and Gerald Arthur Helfrich; his grandchildren, Shiloh Jane and Jonathan Ezra Truffer; and his nephews, Henry and Leo Helfrich.
