He was predeceased by: his father Harold Schaeffer; and his son Robert S. Schaeffer. He is survived by: his children, Beverly Schaeffer of Reading, PA and Michael T. (Donna Schaeffer) of Reading. He is also survived by five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
