It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Oscar J. Koontz Jr. of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on November 25, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar J. Koontz, and Lula V. Koontz, Sr. (Willis); and his wife Mildred P. Koontz (Butts). He is survived by: his children, Oscar J. Koontz III (Yvonne Harman) of Shippensburg, David M. Koontz (Wanda) of Shippensburg, Troy A. Koontz (Mary) of Artemas, Rebecca L. Ross (Rick Reath) of Shippensburg and Cheryl S. Rine (Thomas) of Orrstown; and his grandchildren, Jeremy Kelso (Michelle), Samantha Mowery (Chad), Brian Smith (Anne), David Koontz, Jr. (Ashley), Stephanie Heffernan (Matt), Megan Raymond (Alex), Justin Hoover (Stephanie), Jarret Rine (Kaylyn Hepfer) and Mitchell Rine. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
