With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph Lee Hockersmith (Shippensburg, Pennsylvania), born in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on November 9, 2023 at the age of 70. He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Lee Hockersmith and Anne Hockersmith (Means); his brother Daniel Hockersmith; his parents-in-law, Charles and Esther Staver; and his brother-in-law Bernard Pipan.

He is survived by: his spouse Kathe Hockersmith (Staver); his children, Joseph Hockersmith (Jane) of Ellicott City, MD, Nathan Hockersmith (Tiffany Shoop) of Blacksburg, VA and Erin Hockersmith of Shippensburg; his siblings, B. Randall Hockersmith (Kristi), Carol Tsambiras (Angelo), Timothy Hockersmith (Lynn) and Joan Pipan; his sister-in-law Nancy Davis; and his grandsons, Charlie, Andrew and Jack Hockersmith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
