He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles E. Newell, and Beatrice L. Rhinehart Newell, Sr.; and his siblings, Barbara Smith, Judy Snider, Joan Shank and Richard Head.
He is survived by: his wife Constance A. "Connie" Orndorff Newell; his children, Heath E. Newell (Holly), Kelly J. Russell (Steven) and Mickey Newell (Pepper Burkholder); his grandchildren, Taylor D. Schall (Jonah), Morgan Newell (Travis), Kara Newell, Tanyia J. Russell (Matthew), Kaylee K. Russell and Ki Burkholder; his great great grandchildren, Cullen Q. McLaughlin and Hazel M. McLaughlin; and his siblings, Charlotte Hoover (Charles) and Dave Newell. He is also survived by 17 nieces and nephews.
