He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Smith and Rachel A. Smith (Carbaugh); his wife Nancy Bailey Smith; his son William T. Smith; and his stepson Ricky Bailey.
He is survived by: his children, Royce Smith and Karen Chido (Louis); his stepchildren, Michelle Bailey, Susan Brooks, Jimmy Bailey and Eric Bailey; his siblings, Robert Smith (Nancy), Susan Arnold and Sara Huckabone; and his granddaughters, Angela Jerman, Christina Martin and Abigail Smith. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family has requested memorial donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice, in memory of Thomas.
