He was predeceased by: his parents, John Root and Mary Kathryn Todd (Stauffer). He is survived by: his wife Cathy Renee Todd (Harnish); his children, Neil (Emma), Renee Julius (Dustin), Kent Todd and Maria Todd; his grandson Cooper; and his siblings, John Todd, Jane Gerlach, Shirley Harsh and Barb Hershey.
