He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Preston and Nina Preston; his brother Charles A. Preston, Jr.; and his granddaughter Irene Preston. He is survived by: his wife Joy Diggs-Preston (Barbara Preston); his children, Richard C. Preston, Jr. (Simone) of Franklinville, NJ and Donna Preston-Moody (Eric) of Elkins Park, PA; his grandchildren, Jamil Humphrey, Jr., Lia J. Preston, Eric Moody, Jr., Ashley K. Preston, Joshua Moody and Xavier E. Moody; his mother-in-law Roseanna Diggs of Phila; his siblings-in-law, Gralyn E. Diggs (Maria) of Bergenfield, NJ and Dawn L. Diggs of Phila; his cousin Phyllis Jarrett of Cincinnati, OH; and his sister-in-law Shirley Preston of Wyncote, PA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
