He was predeceased by: his son Gregory Smith; his parents, John E. R. and Theresa Murray Smith; and his siblings, Veronica, Mary Louise, Murray, Donald, William, Eugene and Jerome.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Joan Menner Smith; his children, Edward "Ward" Smith, Jr. (Janet) and Breen Smith (Joni); and his sister Theresa Spagnolo. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the St. Paul Cathedral Food Pantry, or a Food Pantry of choice.
