He was predeceased by: his brother Michael; and his parents, Simon Stelmack and Pauline Stelmack. He is survived by: his wife Joan Stelmack (Dobransky); his children, Carolyn Malloy (Thomas), Marc Stelmack (Marichelle), Matthew Stelmack (Erica), Poppop of Grace, Margaret Malloy, Alexandra, Josephine Stelmack and Cecilia Stelmack; and his sister Paulette Vroblefski (Michael). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
