He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret; his son Michael Mooney III; his parents, Michael J. Mooney and Elsie M. Mooney Sr.; and his siblings, Franny, Bobby and Barbara.
He is survived by: his daughters, Marie Salvato (Anthony) and Megan Derr (Craig); and his grandsons, Michael Mooney IV (Vicki), Sean Mooney, Geoffrey Mooney and Anthony Salvato. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
The family request instead of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Friends of Heinz Refuge as he served as a volunteer at the Heinze Refuge in Tinicum.
