He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Friedl and Elizabeth Eckl Friedl. He is survived by: his wife Christine "Chris" Mills Jovenitti; his children, Denise E. Friedl of Pittsburgh, Robert M. Friedl of Freeport, PA, Benjamin Jovenitti (Renee) of Johnsonburg, Lance Jovenitti (Stephanie) of Rockton and Thomas Jovenitti (Kelly) of Allison Park, PA; and his brothers, Wayne Friedl of St. Marys and Dennis Friedl (Julie) of St. Marys. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
