She was predeceased by: her parents, Agustus C. Giffing and Helen M. Swayne Giffing; her husband James F. Carter; her son Dennis F. Carter; and her brothers, Allen Giffing, Ronald Giffing and William Giffing.
She is survived by: her daughter Roxanne Mitchem (Gordon Mitchem); and her grandchildren, Rachael Broderick (Christopher Broderick) of Kirkwood, PA, Sarah Mitchem (Evan), Dennis Mitchem (Megan McKnight) and Gordon Mitchem II of Paradise, PA. She is also survived by three great granddaughters.
