He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter J. and Mary Gierlach, Sr. (Nevotne); and his sister Dorothea M. Dickens. He is survived by: his wife Marlene Gierlach (Nocera); his children, Marcie Horn (Bill) of New Castle, Walter J. Gierlach, III (Debbie) of Poland and Kevin Gierlach (Stephanie) of New Castle; his sister Susan G. Noviello of New Castle; and his grandchildren, Krista Remis (Andrew), Ava Horn, Adrienne Gierlach and Kevin Gierlach.
