He was predeceased by: his father Michael Alpern; and his stepfather Frank Dolen. He is survived by: his mother Lee Dolen; his wife Doris Hugh-Alpern; his son Dylan Alpern (Jessica); his brothers, David Alpern (Carla) and Richard Dolen; and his nieces, Abbie Emma and Rebecca Alpern.
