She is survived by: her children, Paul Merkel, Jr. of Washington, WV, Janine Fanelli (Laurence) of Titusville, Stephen Merkel of Natrona Heights and Christine Pekny (Joseph) of West Lafayette, IN; and her daughter-in-law Barbara Merkel (McDade) of Bluffton, SC. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
