Mary Kotelnicki Obituary

KOTELNICKI - Mary, 98, of Nanty Glo, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday August 30 2013 at Baptist Home, Pittsburgh. Born August 29, 1915 to Frank and Antoinette Hischak. Preceded in death by husband, Albert; son, David; sons-in-law, Joe Vizi and Tom Nairn; granddaughter, Chrissy (Vizi) D'Avirro; grandson, Jimmy Kotelnicki; sister, Catherine Carr; step-sisters, Josephine Lefko and Ann "Anka" Durocher; step-brother, Nick Witychak; and her loving friend and neighbor, Mary Long.

Survived by daughters, Patricia Vizi; Gloria Nairn; and Mary Lou Palencsar. 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. Also survived by step-sister, Mary "Tillie" Krawetz; and sister-in-law, Ann Kotelnicki. Lifelong member of St Mary's Catholic Church of Nanty Glo, which she so dearly loved.

Mary loved her family and her home in Nanty-Glo. She enjoyed cooking, knitting slippers & afghans, playing pinochle, 500 Rummy, Scrabble & bingo at the Nanty-Glo Firehall. Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Mary's Church, the Rev.
