He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse J. Lyons and Annie Lyons (Rishel). He is survived by: his wife Kathleen J. Gardner; his children, Kevin (Renee Lyons) of Layton, Utah, Tammy (James McNier) of Virginia Beach, VA and Rechele (Michael Robbins); his grandchildren, Megan (Lucian Waltz), Felicia McNier, Cariea, Savannah Robbins and Jessie Lyons; and his great grandchild Cecelia Waltz.
