He was predeceased by: his father Raymond A. Alakson; his wife Karen Alakson; and his brother Richard Alakson. He is survived by: his children, Raymond R. Alakson Jr. (Julie), Pamela Alakson and Whitney Kuhn; and his siblings, Dennis Alakson (Sandy) and Cindy Alakson. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson.
