She was predeceased by: her parents, Hilda Beach Huntzinger and Herman Huntzinger; her husband George J. Pothering; and her siblings, Hilda Mae Huntzinger, Robert Huntzinger (Ann) and Herman Huntzinger (Betty).

She is survived by: her close friend Elizabeth Ryndock (Betty); her goddaughter Denise Essler; her children, Debra Pothering Zangari of Minersville, PA and Greg (Ellen Pothering); her grandchildren, Maria Zangari of Ringtown, PA and Dr. Christian Pothering (Larissa); her great grandchildren, Kaleigh and Bryce Pothering of Winston-Salem, NC.; and her siblings-in-law, Jimmy Pothering and Bonnie Pothering Melenchick. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
