With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Makara (Minersville, Pennsylvania), born in Branchdale, Pennsylvania, who passed away on August 27, 2021 at the age of 97. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary Makara to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Kohut and Anna Brek Kohut; her husband Andrew Makara Sr.; and her sister Anna Warhola. She is survived by: her children, Patricia Makara, Andrew Makara (Charlene), Anthony Makara (Nancy) of Fairfax, VA and Dr. Jack Makara (Kalina); her sister Lorraine Lucas (Paul) of Fort Washington, MD; and her grandchildren, Maria, Kathleen, Andrew, Dr. Michael Makara (Sara), Matthew, Lauren and John Makara. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Guests attending the services are requested to wear a mask.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions, in Mary's name, to the memorial fund of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church at 415 N. Front Street Minersville, PA 17954.
