She was predeceased by: her parents, Darrel Battles and Laurena Battles (Whightman); her husband James H. Johnston; her sister-in-law Velma Battles; and her daughter-in-law Martha Johnston.
She is survived by: her children, Virginia Johnston, Gary Johnston of Meadville and Dale Johnston (Laurie) of Meadville; her grandchildren, Brad Johnston (Amber) of Meadville, Kelly Spring (Bradley) of Meadville and Troy Johnston of Meadville; her great grandchildren, Claralee Johnston and Austin Spring; and her brother Herman Battles of Meadville. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
