He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Bartz and Laura Bartz (Bishop); and his brothers, Irvin, Rodger, Walter and Frederick.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Bartz (Smith); his children, Jacqueline, Jennifer and Jeffery (Diana); his sister Lynn Zimmerman (Ron); his grandchildren, Jhenniffer, Michael and Adam; and his great grandchild Ryland. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and extended family.
