She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Kinser and Lucena Kinser (Barraclough); her husband Paul Garis Tyson; and her siblings, Sandy Moyle, Jim Kinser and Robert Kinser.

She is survived by: her sons, Timothy P. Tyson (Susie) of Lewistown and Kenneth D. Tyson of Lewistown; and her siblings, Audrey Williamson of Mifflintown and Donald 'Butch Kinser (Carmen) of Hershey. She is also survived by five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
