He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Wertz and Ruth Wertz (Knepp); and his brothers, Steven and Blair Wertz. He is survived by: his wife Mary C. Wertz (Auman); his children, Bobette Myers (Daryl) of Aaronsburg, Merle A. Wertz, Jr. (April) of Pleasant Gap, Tangy Baird (Tony) of Centre Hall and Nicki Wertz; his stepsons, Rodney Pressler of Pensacola, FL and Daniel Pressler of Centre Hall; and his sister Lucielle Dashem of Centre Hall. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
