He was predeceased by: his parents, Cloyd L. Dietz and Margaretta Dietz (Narehood); his sister Bernice Dietz (Charles "Chuck" Dietz); and his former wife Rose Dietz (Dean). He is survived by: his wife Nancy L. Dietz (McClellan); his children, Brian Dietz (Sheila), Melinda "Mindy" Sheaffer (Jason) and Luann Riden (Mike); his grandchildren, John Dietz, Ali Wileman, Jed Dietz, Louden Sheaffer, Amanda Riden, Mackenzie Riden and Joseph "Joe" Riden; and his great grandchildren, Lily, Kaito, Annie, Rose Harper, Jack, Emma and Jaxson. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and friends.
