She was loved and cherished by many people including: her mother Irene Wojtkiewicz; her sister Dolores Nawrocki (Ted); her husband Harry W. Shaw; her children, Matthew Shaw Sr., Sandy Lyle (Mike), Colleen Cutrupi (Paul) and Amy Gonzales (Mike); and her grandchildren, Matthew Shaw Jr., Courtney Karcanes (Louis), Michael, Ashley, Justin Lyle, Nicholas, Daniel Cutrupi, Ryan, Megan and Emma Gonzales. She was also cherished by friends, colleagues that became friends and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Joan's name to the following organizations.
