He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Burkholder and Frances Zimmerman Burkholder; his children, Miriam, Elam and Anna Burkholder; his grandson Matthew Zimmerman; and his siblings, Amos, Norman, Elam and Annetta Burkholder.
He is survived by: his wife Mabel G. Hoover Burkholder; his children, Marvin Burkholder (Malinda) of Greenwood, WI, Edward Burkholder (Vera Jane), Leola, Arlene (Jerry Martin), Jonathan Burkholder (Luanne) and Susie (Raylyn Zimmerman) of Willard, OH; and his sisters, Emma Z. Burkholder, Anna Mary Burkholder, Leola, Ella Z. (Enos Hoover), Ruth Z. (Lester Martin) of Curtiss, WI and Ina Z. (Norman Hoover) of Owen, WI.. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.
