He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Mihalek and Ann Mihalek (Dohner); his wife Kathryn E. Mihalek (Clerico); and his children, Joan Mihalek and Matthew Mihalek.
He is survived by: his daughter Kathryn Mihalek of South Pasadena, FL; his siblings, Charles Mihalek, Margarette Silva and Reda Mihalek; and his siblings-in-law, Rose Marie Yandoskie (Richard), Mary Lou and Timothy Bertz. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
