He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Gardner and Helen Gardner (Templin); and his brothers, Neil Gardner, Dennis Gardner and Shawn Gardner.

He is survived by: his grandfather Dean (Deano); his children, Michelle Etter (David), Shauna Francis and Matthew Gardner (Elizabeth); and his grandchildren, Andrew Etter, Kaila Francis and Zoey Gardner.
