He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald D. Hyatt and Evelyn Markey Gibson; his stepfather Russell E. Gibson; his grandson Mason Hughes; his son-in-law John Hughes; his siblings, Donald Hyatt and Charlotte Joyce Trump; and his half-sisters, Patty Cavalier and Barbara Barcus.
He is survived by: his children, Melissa Hughes of Derry, Melinda Thomas-Lupyan (Craig) of Blairsville and Robert K. Hyatt II (David) of Atlanta, GA; his grandchildren, Paige Lupyan, Brooklyn Thomas (James Repinski), Allyson Thomas and Alex Lupyan; his brother Barry Hyatt of Connellsville; and his nephew David Hyatt (Michelle).
