He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph D. Ickes and Julie Ickes (Kovensky); his wife Susan; his children, Bryan (Sarah) of Burlington, NC, Laura (Daniel Hess) of Columbia, SC, Matthew (Denyel) of Altoona and Joanna (Brian Johnson) of Manning, SC.; his grandchildren, Ethan, Olivia, Benjamin, Mason, Sophia, Ava, Eliana, Caleb, Asa, Emra, Elizabeth, Lauren and Madison; and his sisters, Marianne Hofer (Tom) and Elaine Pletcher (Kovensky) of Altoona. He was also cherished by many loving nephews, nieces, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Community Church, 1225 Madison Ave., Altoona, PA.
