He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Henry Stokes and Mildred Stokes (Williams); his grandson Lukas; and his brothers, David, Edgar and Arthur "Chub" Stokes.
He is survived by: his wife Polly Stokes (Gruda); his children, Alan A Stokes (Yvonne), Wendy MacMillen (Scott), Jeffrey Stokes, Susan Lowry (Scott) and Marcie Stokes; his sister Pamela Stokes of Elderton, PA; and his sister-in-law Janet Stokes of Indiana, PA.. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren.
