It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Judith W. Merkel of Hyndman, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 16, 2021, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Ranker and Phyllis Ranker Messenger (Clites); her daughter Heidi; and her siblings, Claire Ranker, Diane Emmons and Faith Ranker.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Merkel (Tracy) of Hyndman, Melissa Burkett (Andrew) of Hyndman, Jessica Kennell (Nathan) of Fairhope and Kyle Merkel of Hyndman; her grandchildren, Devin, Paige, Taylor, James, Payton, Jorja and Jerik (Charles Mueller Jr.); and her siblings, Wendyl Fiske (Donnie), Karen Carder, Ryan and Nathan Ranker. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Tuesday from 3 to 5 p. m. Visitors are asked to wear masks.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help defer expenses.
