It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John P. Getz (Hyndman, Pennsylvania), born in Wellersburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on March 13, 2020, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John B. Getz and Viola E. Getz (Kennell); his former wife Erma Lee Getz (Sturtz); his siblings, Jay, Robert Getz and Mary Louise Diehl; and his son-in-law William Miller.
He is survived by: his wife Joann Crislip Getz (Holt); his children, John P. Getz (Krista Appleby) of Frederick and Meta Jo Miller of Cresaptown; his stepchildren, Carl Crislip (Nancy) of Germantown, MD. and Cary Crislip (Pam) of Pittsburgh; his sister Joan Murray (Homer) of Grantsville, MD; his grandsons, Eric Miller (Sarah) and Dan Miller (Allison); his great grandchildren, Luke, Kasey Miller, Madison Miller, Brayden and Taylor Emerick; his stepgrandchildren, Charles Crislip (Rachel Levin), Courtney Crislip (Garrett Eagan), Chase Crislip (Madi), Chance Crislip, Brittany Townsend (Rob) and Cassandra Crislip (Nikki); and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Reagan Crislip, Keira and Tailer Crislip. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
