He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Coughenour and Effie Avalyne Coughenour (Miller); his wife Joan May Coughenour (Shaffer); and his brother Edward Coughenour. He is survived by: his children, Michael Coughenour (Deanna), Deborah Daugherty (Richard "Doc") of Ridgeley, WV and DeVon Royce Coughenour (Angela); his grandchildren, Chance M. Coughenour (Carol), Blake M. Coughenour (Shijie), Zeb M. Coughenour (Jacqueline), Whitney M. Patterson (Ryan), Devin Rae Canby (Cody), Amanda Haney (Phillip), Jacob R. Coughenour and Daniel R. Coughenour; and his great grandchildren, Lumen, Radian Coughenour and Kinsley Canby. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
