He was predeceased by: his parents, William Generose and Helen Generose (Patskan); and his sister Anna Matteo. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Generose (Lagana); his children, Reverend, Ann Theresa Trently (Robert, Sr.) and Melissa Sweeney (Bernard); his grandchildren, Jason Generose, Angelo, Anthony Palaggi, Patrick, Mary Sweeney, Brianna Porreca (Daniel) and Robert Generose III; his stepgrandsons, Patrick and Robert Trently, Jr.; and his siblings, William (Catherine), Mary Gross, Helen Brill, Rose Molinaro (Maurice), Martha Kolarick and Jane Popiak. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's name may be made to Queen of Heaven Parish.
