He was predeceased by: his wife Frances "Fran" Hassett (Foley); his parents, Michael Hassett and Margaret "Peg" Hassett; and his siblings, Michael, Maureen and John "Buddy".
He is survived by: his sister-in-law Patricia Granahan (Pat); his children, Tim Hassett (Diane), Dan Hassett (Claire), Margaret "Molly" Mara (Kevin), Claire Frances and Andrew Hassett (Sunny); and his grandchildren, Sam, Charlie Hassett, Caty, Patrick Mara, Luc, Charlotte, Julien Moisan, Madeline, Lily, Aly and Stetson Hassett. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made in his name to Philabundance Community Kitchen, 3616 South Galloway Street, Philadelphia, PA 19148 an organization at which his daughter-in-law, Sunny (Lingerfeldt) Hassett, has been involved in for several years.
