He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter "Lefty" Butler and Nellie Butler; and his wife Wanda M. Ickes (Eger). He is survived by: his son David L. Ickes, Jr. (Erin) of Keedysville, MD; his stepchildren, Tina Eger of Gettysburg, Greg Eger of Dover and Curt Eger of Gettysburg; and his sisters, Linda Clark and Sharon Miller. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
