He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay Benson and Esther Benson (Quick); his daughter Lynne Christine; and his siblings, Stuart, Jean and Doris.
He is survived by: his wife Myrtle Benson (Mack) of Ford City; his children, Linda Trego (Don Wyant) of Kittanning, Carol Stropki (Dan) of Solon, OH and Tom Benson (Lucy) of Olympia, WA; his grandchildren, Will Trego, Marsha Trego (Alex Bondoux), Sarah Trego and John Bics (Sarah); his sister Maxine Blevins of Louisville, KY; his great-nephew Jay Benson (Ann) of Kingston, MA; and his great-niece Heather Gienapp (John) of Naples, FL. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
