He was predeceased by: his parents, William Sr. Schaffer and Josephine Schaffer; and his sister-in-law Sharon Schaffer. He is survived by: his wife Sally Meisner; his son Damien Schaffer (Nancy); his grandchildren, Mikayla, Matthew and Zachary; and his brother Joseph Schaffer.
