He is survived by: his wife Elfriede Hofmann (Rosenbaum); his children, Barbara Hunzer (Karl) and Steve Hofmann (Amy); his grandsons, Thomas and James Hofmann; and his sisters, Irmgard Walter and Hedwig Demantke.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Reinhold's memory to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
